Caring Culture: Art, Architecture and the Politics of Public Health étudie le changement politique des usages du concept de soin dans les démocraties néolibérales. L’ouvrage interroge comment les artistes, les architectes et les designers contribuent à ces changements, que se soit en participant ou en critiquant ses manifestations sociales. La publication rassemble des études sur des interventions artistiques dans des institutions liées à la santé et à la sécurité sociale, ainsi que des essais politiques ou philosophiques et des entretiens sur le thème du « bien-être ». Caring Culture est le premier volume d’une série de publications Actors, Agents and Attendants éditée par SKOR (Fondation for Art and Public Domain) dans le but d’enquêter sur le rôle des pratiques cultures dans l’organisation du domaine public.
Caring Culture: Art, Architecture and the Politics of Public Health examines changing political uses of the concept of care in neoliberal democracies and asks how artists, architects and designers both contribute to and attempt to critique its social manifestations. The publication brings together case studies of artistic and design interventions within health and social care institutions, and broader political and philosophical essays and interviews relating to civic « well-being ». Contributors include curators, artists, politicians, architects and healthcare professionals.
Caring Culture is the first volume in the Actors, Agents and Attendants series of publications and symposia initiated by SKOR to investigate the role of cultural practice in the organization of the public domain.
